a weekend of firsts

this weekend Brooks checked off a few "firsts" in his book of life.

first time in the bumbo seat!

first mini-vacation - we drove up to vail for the night, made dinner, relaxed, watched baseball and enjoyed the snow.

first full night sleeping in the pack n' play - 8.5 hours! love it!

first "hike" and extended trip in the snuggli.

brooks was asleep before i even had my shoes on or stepped out the door!

Life is good

Brooks celebrated his 3 month birthday yesterday and this little guy is changing all the time.

He looks so much bigger and more like a little boy than he did a month ago. He is really holding his head up on his own and kicks his legs more than ever. We are seeing more and more smiles everyday and still waiting for the first big laugh.

With the nice weather this week, we went for a couple of walk, had lunch at the park with emily and xander and even went to the garden store looking for new plants. Brooks got this new hat, but like most things, it looks small but is still way too big!

the cutest easter bunny ever showed up at our house on sunday... and we think his cheeks must be filled with eggs and candy! what else could be in there?!?

this weekend brooks also joined in for a few hands of bridge. he and daddy are learning at the same time, who will be a master first?

2 months

our little man is changing so much - already 11 pounds, really starting to hold his head up for longer moments, and making eye contact with lots of toys and mobiles.

two months and already looking a little bored with the pictures - little does he know there will be many more months of sitting in this chair for mommy!

brooks is really smiling now and making great faces all the time. sometimes the faces are accompanied by squeals of delight too - not quite laughter, but hilarious!

Growing up fast

we know the weeks are flying by, but really, a steak dinner already?!?

Brooks has had a great long weekend with nana paula and grandpa phil - lots of love and hugs! He is ready to celebrate his first st. patrick's day today, and i should probably take my little red-headed boy out into the world to celebrate all his irishness!

at our bible study group on monday night Brooks and his newest friend Elliott came in the same cute all-star baseball outfits...

we are so happy to have Elliott here and healthy and can't wait for him and Brooks to be great friends.

One Month Birthday

wow - this month has totally flown by - i can't believe our little Brooks is already one month old! i wouldn't trade one day with him so far - he is a delight and so much fun to just look at all day long!

Brooks received this cute little bear with his name stitched onto the sweater from family friends in dallas, and we thought it would be cute to use the bear to measure Brooks' growth each month. Brooks is also starting to make tiny sounds other than cries and screams and is making eye contact with us and his mobile. Brooks has also had great visits with his Grandpa, Mimi and Uncle Neill over the past week.
