8 is great

Here we go again...maybe the fastest month to fly by yet! I can hardly keep up or keep each month straight at this point!

Highlights and milestones...
- first boat ride and life jacket experience. (not on the sailboat, but on a cold and windy day on Lake Dillon in Colorado!)
- first two teeth came in with little fuss or fanfare
- first meals in the big boy highchair
- first trip to Atlanta
At eight months, Brooks loves "waving" his hands, clapping and playing peek-a-boo. I'm not sure where he learned the peek-a-boo, but he loves to play with napkins, clothes, dishtowels and blankets! it's pretty cute.
He is eating well, but had his first alergic reaction this month...to formula! We have since found a kind that he will tolerate (he's not alergic to milk thank goodness) and just in time for his eight month birthday he finally decided that he would take a bottle again after a three week bottle boycott! At the doctor, Brooks weighed in at 18 lbs 15 oz - still the 50th % despite everyone who meets him saying that he is "a big baby!"
This month, Brooks also got his first "cold" and his first viral rash. Luckily for Brooks and me, Richard knows how to handle all the medical mysteries that are thrown at us, keeping me calm and Brooks healthy.
Happy 2/3 birthday little bear - we love you so much! You are really becoming more of a little boy everyday and we can't wait for all the adventures to come.

Can't believe 8 months have already passed! Have to say he's still just as much of a cutie as he was on day one... and LOVE that little striped short-sleeved shirt with the long-sleeves underneath. Just my style...
